Last week in Language Arts, my co-teach and I had the students draw up a timeline as a review for a story we've been reading. Lou Gehrig: The Luckiest Man is a nice little selection about sportsmanship, courage, and what to do when the going gets tough. We provided the kids with 2 dates- Lou Gehrig's birth and death, and had them fill in a couple important dates in the middle on their own. As a bonus, they could illustrate 2 of the events on the back of their paper. Naturally, most students decided to sketch the events with which they were provided. After first period, it was obvious that 2 illustrators were in a clear league of their own (heh heh). My students are seated in pairs, so the following pictures present a sort of chicken-egg conundrum when it comes to intellectual property. Regardless of the true mastermind, both of these illustrations gave me a good 10-minute laugh as I earnestly tried to give instructions to my 2nd period class.
Ha, I like the drawings. I was reading about Lou Gehrig the other day too! Some people believe that he may not have died from Als but instead from bleeding in the brain, so they're requesting the medical records from mayo clinic. Which would suck if he didn't die of Als since that is his disease. Anyway, there's my story on Lou. Lol

What ages are these kids? They seem light-years ahead of me when I was in school. Good story. Keep 'em coming!
